I’m a self taught artist known for working En Plein Air…painting outdoors. I grew up in the Chicago area and currently live in the Lincoln park neighborhood of Chicago. I have my studio in the Roscoe Village neighborhood, a short walk from my home.

I create many of my paintings on-site in the various Chicago neighborhoods, on the streets, sidewalks and alley-ways of our vast, architecturally rich, and culturally diverse urban surroundings. I’m not interested in copying the scene, but look to create a good feel of the light in the composition, and a strong sense of atmospheric depth that draws the viewer into my work.

I’ve been working with oil paints since 2011 and have enjoyed creating on location, interacting with people, enjoying the sites and sounds, the music from street musicians, the smell of food from a vendor’s grill, allowing me to be completely immersed in the scene and the elements of the outdoors….no better way to spend a summer afternoon.

All my painting materials used to create my work are of the highest archival quality.
